Rose Lavelle suited up and played for the US Women’s National team this year after a stellar career at the University of Wisconsin. She was then drafted as the 1st overall pick in the 2017 NWSL Draft going to the Boston Breakers.

The United States Women’s National Team won the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Alex Morgan, Hope Solo, Sydney Leroux, and Megan Rapinoe all played parts in this competition.

Along with over 50 other players, these incredible athletes all spent time playing for the Sounders Women during their ascension in the professional game. Many of these players also saw time with their respective national teams.

“We have worked hard to create a professional environment, first in the W-League, and now in the WPSL, for women soccer players to prepare for the highest level of the game,” said Cliff McElroy, Sounders Women Co-owner, “We are proud of the players that have called the Sounders Women home for a summer and we are excited about the new group coming in May.”

The Sounders Women continue the tradition this spring with games starting in May in the WPSL. The home schedule and ticket opportunities can be found at http://www.sounderswomen.com. The season ticket purchase includes all four home games along with any exhibitions scheduled as the team prepares for the 2017 season. Individual tickets can also be purchased for each game and the Sounders Women will be playing a double header the evening of July 7th with their partners, the Sounders U23, at Sunset Stadium in Sumner.

Kim Calkins, Sounders Women Head Coach says, “This year’s roster represents a diverse group of exceptionally talented and passionate soccer players excelling in their respective college programs, as well as youth national teams, from local to across the country. Our coaching staff is looking forward to the opportunity to work with such a competitive group of young women for a summer in one of the greatest soccer culture cities in the United States.”

Stay tuned for exciting announcements about the roster and upcoming events!
