Jordan Morris scored a game-winning goal in the 59th minute, sending the Seattle Sounders to a 1-0 road victory over the Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday.
The home side controlled much of the possession throughout the first half, but couldn’t quite parlay any of it into an opening goal despite a couple of solid chances. The Sounders, meanwhile, had perhaps their best look of the opening frame off a 36th-minute strike from substitute midfielder Harry Shipp, but the shot went wide and the match would remain scoreless into the halftime break.
Seattle found the winner in the 59th minute after Morris pounced on a loose ball during a frantic scramble in the box, set himself up with a rainbow feed over two defenders and managed to poke home a trickling finish to the far post. Neither side would manage to strike after that, allowing Seattle to see out the victory.
