Reign FC announce pre-season matches

reign_logo_no_seattleTACOMA, WA–– Reign FC today announced that the club will play its first pre-season match of the 2019 season in Norco, CA when the club takes on UCLA on Saturday, March 16.

UCLA advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals before falling to first-ranked North Carolina to end their 2018 campaign. The match against the Bruins will kick off at noon on Field #16 at SilverLakes Soccer Complex. Seats can be reserved for $10, with the option to stand during the match for free.

Reign FC’s next match will be at the Thorns Spring Invitational in Portland, Oregon, hosted at the University of Portland by Portland Thorns FC. Along with Reign FC and Thorns FC, the Chicago Red Stars and the U.S. U-23 WNT will compete.

Reign FC’s first two matches vs. the U.S. U-23 WNT and the Chicago Red Stars will be open to the public and will not require a ticket to attend. Tickets to Reign FC’s match against Portland Thorns FC on Saturday, March 30 will be made available on www.thornsfc.com beginning Tuesday, March 19 at 10 a.m. PT.

Reign FC will face off against the University of Washington women’s soccer team in the club’s final match of the 2019 pre-season on Friday April 5. The match kicks off at 7:30pm at Husky Soccer Stadium on UW’s campus. Admission will be free and open to the public.

Reign FC Waives Forward Elizabeth Addo

NWSL-Logo_no_textTACOMA, WA—Reign FC today announced that it has waived forward Elizabeth Addo.

“Elizabeth informed us that she has an opportunity to play in China that will be beneficial to her and her family,” said Reign FC owner and president Bill Predmore. “She asked for our assistance in making the move and we are supportive of her request. We appreciate her efforts on behalf of Reign FC last season and wish her well.”

Addo was selected with the eighth pick in the 2018 NWSL Dispersal Draft. Addo played in 13 games for Reign FC during the 2018 season, starting eight, for a total of 698 minutes.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity to learn and grow with Reign FC last season,” said Addo. “I want to thank the Predmores, the staff, and most of all my teammates for pushing me to play my best game each day. I wish Reign FC the best of luck in their new home in Tacoma.”
