Forget about hat tricks, Goldendale‘s Lene Riggers struck for four goals as the Timberwolves knocked off the ZillahLeopards 7-2 on Tuesday for their first win of the season.
Riggers, one of two seniors on the team, recorded the haul (four goals) while junior Faith Hastings, junior Jaidan Royce, and sophomore Ashley Speikerman also pitched in goals in a spirited game with an enthused crowd.
Coming off a 4-0 loss last week at Granger that was closer than the final score indicated, the Wolves were able to carry over some momentum from that game and use it against the Leopards.
“We played Granger and they played the best that we’ve ever seen them play,” head coach Anna DeMott said. “I think they got a glimpse of what it feels like to be successful.
