PUYALLUP, WA— Newly-named Washington Premier U23 of the Evergreen Premier League will get a run out tonight at 7 PM at the Washington Premier FC Fields Complex in Puyallup as they face a football program club from England’s Halesowen College in a scrimmage match.
The visitors practiced on Thursday in the rain and on artificial turf after arriving in the Northwest. They are part of a college program for coaching, performance analysis and other soccer-related fields. The college also fields playing teams. See the video below.
Washington Premier U23 were formerly called South Sound FC “Shock.” They have now taken the name of the youth club where they reside as the top tier in its men’s program.
The Evergreen Premier League season kicks off in May. WPFC U23’s first league match is May 5 at the WPFC Complex when they host the Olympic Force.
