While it seems as though every other family you meet in Tacoma has a daughter playing soccer, it hasn’t always turned into wins on the field for Grit City teams over the years.
With the exception of Bellarmine Prep, there hasn’t been much in the way of true challengers for a state championship in recent memory.
That all changed in a big way this fall sports season.
Tacoma had not one, but two teams, make it all the way to the respective state championship matches. In the end, one would score the big trophy, while the other had to settle for a record-setting season and a runners-up finish.
