Whatcom Orcas invade Port Angeles, come back with big win over Peninsula Pirates

PORT ANGELES, WA— Zach Wanne’s goal in the 85th minute lifted the Whatcom Orcas over the Peninsula Pirates 3-2 (local report) on Wednesday in NWAC action at Wally Sigmar Field. (Box Score)

The Orcas raised their record to 12-0-2 in the North Region and 15-0-3 overall while the Pirates fell to 9-1-4 in the North and 11-2-4 overall. Both clubs  have already clinched NWAC playoff berths.


The Orcas are having a great season, and people around the country are starting to take notice.

Whatcom moved into the national top 10 in the most recent junior college coaches poll.

The school also had its first-ever national player of the week as Eric Jones (Snohomish) took that honor back on October 10th.
