SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA— Steelheads FC will hold their first-ever men’s adult elite soccer open tryouts starting this Thursday June 1 at Lakewood High School in Arlington. The second stage of tryouts takes place the next day (June 2.) Both sessions start at 7 PM. The cost is $35 cash.
Snohomish County Football Club is organizing for a series of summer friendlies and for an application to join the Evergreen Premier League in 2018. The club recently hired Dagi Kesim as their first head coach and he will lead the tryouts as the team looks for local talent.
“I would like to see hard-working, technical and tactically oriented players,” says Kesim in a video (see above) about this week’s tryouts. “Players who are not only talented but can follow direction and follow the game plan.”
Players are expected to come from all over the area and from all sorts of clubs, including some in the Olympic Soccer League (Everett), the NWAC (Skagit, Everett, Edmonds), high schools, youth premier clubs and graduates from Kesim’s youth club, Gala FC.
“This is our next step to providing the highest level of soccer in Snohomish County,
says Steelheads FC General Manager Andrew Escalante. “We have done our networking to get players to our tryouts – but we also invite anyone who feels like they have been overlooked but have the talent to play. A Snohomish County team needs the best players in Snohomish County.”
“I grew up playing soccer in Snohomish,” says Steelheads FC President Aaron Burns. ““I played high school ball at Snohomish High School, then played two years at Edmonds CC. I have moved around to various elite adult clubs – now it is time for our own local program, and these tryouts will help us build the Steelheads.”
