PDL Update: Rough start for TSS Rovers in NW Division

tssfc-logo-transparent2-1It was a rough start for the new TSS Rovers (Vancouver, BC) last weekend as they debuted in the Premier Development League (PDL) Northwest Division. The Rovers are the former Washington Crossfire (Redmond) and Seattle Wolves (Seattle) who were sold and moved in the off-season.

It was always going to be tough playing in Calgary against Foothills FC, a club that made it all the way to the national final in 2016. But how it all played out over two matches and the following days have challenged the new club.

How about being ahead of Calgary 3-0 at halftime in their opening match? Great stuff until a huge rally saw TSS Rovers fall 4-3.

PDL Primary ShieldThen it was on to Sunday and a second match at Calgary. No goals for the Rovers as they fell 2-0.

End of story? No, because TSS Rovers (sound familiar, Kitsap Pumas?) were judged to have used an ineligible player.  So the PDL docked them 3 standings points.

Now it’s on to better times, one hopes, as the Rovers prepare for their home debut at Swangard.
