Reign FC reveal 2017 NWSL season schedule

NWSL-Logo_no_textSEATTLE, WA–– (club release) Seattle Reign FC announced today its schedule for the upcoming 2017 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) regular season.

During the 2017 NWSL regular season Seattle Reign FC will play 24 matches – twelve at home and twelve away. Reign FC’s home schedule includes no conflicts with Seattle Sounders FC home matches.

Reign FC will play three teams twice (Washington Spirit, Orlando Pride and Boston Breakers), once at home and once on the road.

Seattle will face the remaining six teams three times each, including hosting Sky Blue FC, Portland Thorns FC, and FC Kansas City twice, while facing the Houston Dash, Chicago Red Stars and the defending NWSL champions North Carolina Courage twice on the road.



reignfc-croppedThe home schedule features 11 weekend matches (three on Sunday and eight on Saturday), with one weekday match on Wednesday, June 28th against the Chicago Red Stars.

All home matches will be played at Memorial Stadium, where Reign FC have lost only twice in 36 matches – including two international friendlies and two NWSL playoff matches – over the course of its three seasons in the venerable stadium.

Reign FC will also play two preseason matches, visiting UCLA on Wednesday, April 4th and the University of Washington on Saturday, April 8th.

The NWSL will observe international FIFA dates three times during the 2017 season, as players return to their National Teams to compete during the weekends of June 10-11, July 29-30 and September 16-17.

“Having 24 games this season adds extra challenges for everyone,” said Seattle Reign FC general manager and head coach Laura Harvey. “Unbalanced schedules are always interesting, but we have to make sure we are prepared for every game like it is the most important game. Getting to start off at home is always nice, but we have to hit the ground running this season.”

Reign FC’s longest home stretch of the season is three matches, from Saturday, June 24th to Saturday, July 1st. Their longest road trip is also three matches, from Saturday, May 27th to Saturday, June 17th.


Fans across the country will be able to watch the NWSL Game of the Week on Lifetime every Saturday, which includes a 30-minute pregame show prior to each broadcast. In addition, NWSL Media – the league’s joint venture with A+E Networks – will produce live streams of all matches in high definition on a soon to be announced platform. Matchups for each NWSL Game of the Week will be announced at a later date.

The NWSL playoffs will commence after the 2017 regular season concludes on September 30th. Complete playoff details, including the schedule, will be announced at a later date.


Reign FC players and coaches will report to training camp, presented by Health Warrior, on Friday, March 10th. The full schedule for Health Warrior Preseason Training Camp, including open training information for the public and media, will be released prior to the start of camp.
