Bellingham United and the Olympic Force both cruised to semifinal wins Saturday night in the Western Indoor Soccer League (see recaps below), assuring a rematch of last year’s final which was won by the Hammers, 8-5.
The Hammers will go into Saturday’s Final with a 9-2-0 season record. The Force will bring with them a 7-4-0 mark. During the regular season the Force beat the Hammers in a wild 10-9 affair in Bremerton. More recently the Hammers took revenge with an 8-3 triumph at the Bellingham Sportsplex.
WISL Semis: Olympic Force-8 Oly Town Artesians-3
BREMERTON, WA— The Force jumped out to a big early lead at the Olympic Sports Center thanks to a hat trick from Kyle Johnson and never looked back in topping the Artesians. Oly Town had swept the regular season series but the Force brought playoff intensity to their performance this night. Olympic got the 3 from Johnson and single goals from Enrique Hidalgo, Leo Potts, Diego Aceves, Roland Demombynes and David Meherg. Meherg will miss the Final after being rec-carded along with Oly Town’s Brandon Meyer for fighting.

WISL Semis: Bellingham United-12 Snohomish Skyhawks-5
BELLINGHAM, WA—The Hammers of BUFC rolled over the Skyhawks at the Bellingham Sportsplex to assure a return to hosting the WISL Final. Defender Brady Ulen brought his scoring boots to lead Bellingham with 4 goals. Chris Jepson and Richard Henderson chipped in 2 each. It was 5-2 Hammers at halftime but then the Skyhawks dropped further back and decided to pull their goalkeeper for much of the final quarter. The Hammers got single scores from Behr Ibarra, Kris Pederson, Reno Caro and Brendan Quilici. The Skyhawks got a hat trick from longtime indoor forward Adrian Espinoza and singles from Brendan Rosgen and Aaron Burns.
