The Western Indoor Soccer League semifinals are this Saturday February 18 in Bellingham and Bremerton. The Hammers and Force now know their challengers in those matches after the WISL regular season came to a close with a couple of thrillers.

The Snohomish Skyhawks kicked off at 7 PM at the SoccerDome against the Tacoma Stars Reserves. A low-scoring match was turned on its head late when the Skyhawks scored twice to rally from a 4-2 deficit to tie the Stars 4-4. The single standings point for the tie was enough to claim a playoff spot for the surging Skyhawks.
Minutes later across Puget Sound over in Bremerton the Oly Town Artesians held on for a wild 8-7 win over the Olympic Force at the Olympic Sports Center. The result means 3 points for Oly Town and a 3rd place finish in the regular season.
In Bellingham the Hammers and Sporting Everett were close at 5-4 home side at the half. Then BUFC came out scoring and took a 10-4 lead into the fourth quarter in what was eventually a 12-7 final in favor of Bellingham United.
During the regular season Oly Town FC swept the Olympic Force 10-6 and 8-7. Bellingham United swept the Snohomish Skyhawks 8-3 and 10-4.
In the 2-year history of the WISL playoffs no road club has ever won a match, making Bellingham and Olympic Force strong favorites to rematch for the 2016-17 title. Last year the two battled for the WISL trophy before over 700 fans at the Bellingham Sportsplex in a match that went to the Hammers, 8-5.
