Record crowd of 3,419 watches Huskies edge Redhawks in inaugural WAC/101 Club Cup

MONTLAKE, WA—The University of Washington Huskies hosted the Seattle University Redhawks on Sunday at Montlake in the inaugural WAC/101 Club Cup. Nearly 3,500 fans, a new UW record, packed Husky Soccer Field to see the Dawgs claim a 2-1 victory.

Washington took the lead in the 27th minute on the third goal of the season from Handwalla Bwana. See the video clips below.

Washington made it 2-0 in the 53rd minute when Elijah Rice powered home a shot from close range. See the clips below.

Tyler John scored for Seattle in the 88th minute to make it 2-1, but the Redhawks could not find an equalizer.

Extra seating was brought in to accommodate the record crowd.
