Sounders U23’s fall 3-2 to Calgary, will travel to face them again in PDL playoffs

Calgary Foothills FC celebrated  winning the PDL NW Division on Friday night at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner with a 3-2 victory of the Sounders U23’s.

Both clubs advance to the playoffs and will see each other again next Tuesday in Alberta.

This regular season the clubs played twice with Calgary sweeping the series 1-0 and 3-2.

The U23’s led 2-0 but Calgary came all the way back.

Tom Teupen put the Sounders up 1-0 in the 13th. Guillermo Delgado made it 2-0 midway through the first half.

Foothills FC began their comeback before the break and it was 2-1 when Dominick Zator’s free kick found the back of the U23 net.

It was 2-2 in the 35th when Dominic Russo scored for Calgary.

The winner came in the 59th when Mitch Bauche finished on a rebound, 3-2 Foothills FC.

The Division Champion Calgary Foothills FC will stay in Washington for a match in Bremerton on Sunday against the Kitsap Pumas.
