PDL: Washington Crossfire ends 1-1 with Lane United

REDMOND, WA— Washington Crossfire drew 1-1 on Tursday night at Redmond High School in PDL action against visiting Lane United (Eugene, OR).

Dale Garvey shot the match and shares a gallery at Facebook.com/goalWA.

Riggs Lennon gave Lane United an early lead after he intercepted a Crossfire back pass and made the home side pay for their mistake in the 3rd minute.

Washington then took over the match with numerous first-half chances. Later they were aided by a red card (double yellow) to Lane’s Michael Bazja.

Crossfire battled to even at 1-1 with a nice goal from Rafael (Junior) Sanchez in the 68th minute. Sanchez trapped the pass perfectly and fired a low shot into the net.

Nathan Aune of Crossfire was sent packing (straight red) in the 89th minute for a dangerous tackle. In all the match saw 8 cards waved by the lead official.

The final result leaves Washington Crossfire and Lane United tied at 14 points in the PDL NW Division, good enough for a shared third place.
