REDMOND, WA— The Sounders U23 continued their hot streak in PDL play with a 3-1 win over Washington Crossfire on Tuesday night at Redmond High School. Dale Garvey shares photos from the match with goalWA.net. See the gallery here.

The U23’s and Crossfire exchanged early goals before the Sounders took a 2-1 lead just before halftime. The final score that clinched the match came in the late stages.

Jakob Granlund gave the U23’s a 1-0 advantage in the 15th minute off of an assist from Jose Aguinaga.

Crossfire drew level just a minute later in the 16th when Danny Gavin scored on an assist from Alex Roldan.

The rest of the scoring was more from Aguinaga, who got the winner in the 41st and tacked on insurance in the 87th minute for the U23’s. Jose’s winner was unassisted and the back-breaker was turnabout is fair play – an assist from Granlund, the guy that Aguinaga supplied an assist for in the opening goal.

The Sounders U23 are now 6-3-0 on the season and are in second place with 18 points. Washington Crossfire falls to 3-3-3 on 12 standings points.
