36c5f736c4f30dc6349ecbd034836312Congratulations to the Wenatchee Valley College Athletics North Central Washington Hall of Fame Inductees this year, the 2005 Men’s Soccer squad. They were honored June 9th in Wenatchee by the North Central Washington Sports Awards.

The 2005 Knights team won the first NWAC title in the program’s history.

“It helped that we had a family environment. From the very beginning, everybody got along. Not a single person had a negative bone in their body. We encouraged each other at practices and games,” said Alvaro Valencia, a defensive player on that team.

This group of Knights would go on to play a role in the establishment of Wenatchee FC of the Evergreen Premier League. Wenatchee FC’s first head coach ever John Wright, current assistant coach Jeremy French and goalkeeper Mauricio Sanchez were a part that 2005 Knights team.
