Sounders U23 2-1 Lane United
So far so good for the Sounders U23 of the PDL and the Sounders Women of the WPSL. Both sides have wins this weekend with the U23’s set to got back to battle Sunday at 2 pm against the Portland Timbers U23’s at South Sound Stadium.

On Friday night Jose Aguinaga scored a 90th minute goal as Sounders U-23s (2-1-0 6pts) handed Lane United FC (1-1-3 6pts) their first loss of the season 2-1 at Sunset Stadium in Sumner. Jakob Granlund scored for the U23’s in the 3rd minute and Stefan Tomasevic leveled the score for Lane in the 30th. Lane played the final 22 minutes down a man who was shown a red card after instigating a shoving match after he was knocked down from behind. (From USL PDL NW Facebook.)
In other PDL action Friday, Portland Timbers U23 (0-3-3 3pts) and Washington Crossfire (2-1-2 8pts) played to a 1-1 draw at Lake Washington High School. Timbers took the early lead on a 3rd minute goal by Eddie Sanchez while Crossfire evened it in the 30th on a goal by Junior Sanchez.
Sounders Women 2-1 Issaquah Gunners
The Sounders Women took a 2-1 win on Saturday night at Starfire in the first-ever meeting with Issaquah Gunners. The two are destined to become WPSL rivals as both sides have experienced success over the years.
The match was 0-0 into the second half. Then Karli White got going and the home club pulled ahead with her first goal, 1-0 Sounders in the 65th minute. Cassie Miller was busy making great saves for the Sounders, but she could not stop an Issaquah penalty try which drew the match level in the late stages (77th minute.)
In the 83rd minute White scored again, and this time the Sounders held, winning 2-1 to improve to 2-0-0 in their first-ever WPSL campaign.
