Kitsap_Pumas_logo.svgBREMERTON, WA— (club release) The Kitsap Pumas announced today the signing of midfielders Ibrahim Diaby and Dominic McGiveron, pending league approval.

“We’re excited to add Ibrahim and Dominic for the 2016 season,” Pumas head coach Cameron MacDonald said. “We were delighted to find two midfielders of their caliber available.”

McGiveron last played for the Nike Academy, based at St. George’s Park in Burton-upon-Trent, England. The academy aims to help unsigned under-20 players from all over the world find a professional club.

While at the Nike Academy, McGiveron, 20, made 21 appearances for the club and scored eight goals. Previously, he went on trial with Manchester United and Everton before finally signing with Liverpool as a youth player.

“It’s a big move coming from England, but I am really happy about my choice to sign with Kitsap,” McGiveron said. “I haven’t had the chance to compete for trophies in a while, since we just played friendlies with the Nike Academy, and I am really looking forward to helping the club add a few more.”

Diaby joins the Pumas after playing a season for New York Cosmos B, where he won an NPSL national championship after defeating Chattanooga FC, 3-2 in extra time, in the final. Diaby scored the Cosmos’ first two goals of the game, including 30 seconds into extra time.
