TUKWILA, WA— (club release) The Sounders Women team will begin their first season in the WPSL after playing over a decade in the W-League. A premier launch-pad for professional soccer players, the Sounders Women will again look to bring in the top players from around the country and from local top level college soccer programs who are looking to make the jump to professional women’s soccer. The Sounders Women had five former players drafted into the NWSL this winter following a trend of helping players for over 10 years reach the professional game.
Open tryouts will be held for the Sounders Women this Saturday, March 19th and Sunday, March 20th at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila. The tryouts will run from 2pm to 5pm each day and interested players may register at http://www.sounderswomen.com or through the direct registration site at http://www.eventzilla.net/web/event/2016-sounders-women-tryout-registration-2138837395.
The Sounders Women home schedule is complete with Starfire Sports Stadium as the main home venue and Mercer Island FC hosting the Sounders Women at Mercer Island high school for a one off on June 11th.

Sounders U23/Sounders Women
The Sounders U23 and Sounders Women teams are owned and operated by owners Lane Smith, Cliff McElroy, and Mike Jennings.
The Sounders U23 play in the Northwest Division of the Premier Development League (PDL) and the Sounders Women play in the WPSL. Featuring current college age amateur players with former international and professional stars, both the PDL and the WPSL provide elite amateurs the opportunity to compete while maintaining their eligibility as college student-athletes. Both the PDL and the WPSL are recognized throughout the world for providing superior competition for players, while offering affordable family entertainment for fans throughout North America. The Sounders U23 team is the direct PDL affiliate to the Sounders FC first team and USL S2 team.
