BELLINGHAM, WA— (league release) The Evergreen Premier League of Washington (EPLWA) is excited to reveal our first-ever Official Match Ball, the eye-catching HI-VIZ Tru-Flight from Seattle-area’s West Coast Goalkeeping.
The bright yellow ball features black, silver and turquoise styling along with the West Coast Goalkeeping mark and a full color Evergreen Premier League logo. The surface of the HI-VIZ Tru-Flight has a textured response skin with 32 panel hand-stitched construction. The bladder of the ball is designed to give great balance and ball flight stability.
“West Coast is proud to be the official Match Ball Supplier for the EPLWA,” says company founder Shawn Norris. “One message we consistently hear is how amazing the quality is of this Match Ball.”
“The EPLWA has been partners with West Coast Goalkeeping since day one. We have always had a great affinity for each other because we were both born in the Pacific Northwest,” says League President Peter Ostrovsky. “We are proud that West Coast has become an integral part of all of our matches by providing our first league match ball. All I can say is that for those leagues, clubs and players that are not using West Coast products, you are really missing out.”
Norris says deciding to add soccer balls to a popular inventory of goalkeeping gloves and gear meant West Coast Goalkeeping had to get it just right. “The exterior of the HI-VIZ Tru-Flight was selected by myself and imported directly from Japan, to our factory. Each ball is then hand stitched with a dual bladder to stay inflated longer and to be more predictable when it flies. Many of the balls today are glued, which results in oblong flight, or a wobble. This is something we have worked very hard to make sure we have the highest quality at the best price. We firmly believe the TRU-Flight Match ball is better than the $150 match balls. We are also working with FIFA on full certification of them by the end of this year.”
The HI-VIZ Tru-Flight was used by some clubs in the Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL) this winter, including eventual Champions Bellingham United FC. The West Coast TRU-Flight ball is used by some of the largest Soccer Clubs in the United States including Rainier Valley Slammers and Harbor Premier FC in Washington. “We have heard comments from other coaches and teams about how much the balls must cost,” says Norris, “but when they find out they cost around $40 they are stunned.”
The HI-VIZ Tru-Flight will fly into action this spring as the Evergreen Premier League kicks off its third season with matches the weekend of April 30-May 1. The league will be announcing its full schedule soon.
