On Saturday January 16 the playoff race continued in the Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL) as three of the four clubs currently in the top four won their matches.
The Tacoma Stars Reserves climbed over the Snohomish Skyhawks into the fourth and final playoff spot. The Stars have three matches left to play. The Skyhawks have four.
Bellingham United continued to keep the pressure on the Olympic Force. The Hammers won again and hold a match in hand and a head-to-head win over the Force.

Olympic Force-11 Snohomish Skyhawks-5
SNOHOMISH, WA— The first-place Olympic Force (6-1-0) led wire to wire in a comprehensive win over the homestanding Skyhawks (3-3-0) on January 16 at the Snohomish Soccer Dome. Enrique Hidalgo scored twice and dished out 3 assists for the Force. Pat Perkins and Miles Nilsen also had two goals each for Olympic. WISL leading scorer Gus Bermudez added 1 to his total, which has reached 12 for the season. John Troka scored a brace to lead Snohomish.

Tacoma Stars Reserves-7 Vancouver Victory-5
TACOMA, WA— The defending WISL Champion Tacoma Stars Reserves (3-3-1) climbed back in to a playoff spot as they held off the Vancouver Victory (0-6-0) 7-5 on Saturday night at the Tacoma Soccer Center.
The Victory took an early lead on a goal by Mike Chamberlain, but then the Stars exploded for 5 first quarter goals, including 2 by Mark Lee and 2 from Joseph Cariel. Vancouver spent the rest of the match playing catch-up, and they nearly did it. Trailing 7-2 the Victory scored 3 goals in the 4th quarter to make the match interesting.

Bellingham United-11 Oly Town Artesians-4
BELLINGHAM, WA—The Hammers (5-1-0) blew out the Artesians (1-5-1) before an appreciative crowd (video) on Saturday night at the Bellingham Sportsplex. The visitors stayed in it for a quarter, holding on at 0-0 after one frame. Then BUFC ignited for 4 goals in the second quarter. It was 6-0 in the third before the Artesians could answer.
Richard Henderson continues his stellar season as he notched another hat trick to bring his season total to 11 goals, second-best in the WISL. Conner Moe, Kurtis Pederson (video) and Nick Cashmere chipped in 2 goals each for the Hammers.
